Activities

Park Beach is one of Tasmania's premier surf beachs.  There are gentle areas for the kids to swim and play in the water, and waves to satisfy the surfer in you.

Walk along this extensive beach for hours. You won't tire of the stunning views  of ocean, islands, peninsulas and distant mountains.

There is a walking track around Spectacle head with expansive views of the southern ocean and a whale watching lookout. Find the track at the car park end of the beach.

Red Ochre beach is the next beach along, a few minutes walk from Park Beach. It is a beautiful sheltered quiet beach and ideal for water play, walking and exploring.

The surf lifesaving club at Carlton beach, a few minutes drive away has a patrolled swimming zone during summer weekends and holidays.

Primrose Sands is a 15 minute drive along the Carlton river, and is another beach-stunner in Tasmania's world-class Southern Beaches region.

You can also drive to Richmond, visit the wineries in the Coal Valley, experience the "Tasmanian Devil Unzoo" at Taranna, or drive to the Tasman peninsula and visit the unique Port Arthur Site and the scenic wonders of Pirate's bay.

Hobart City is only 35 minutes drive away, so you won't miss this beautiful harbourside historic city, Salamanca Market, Mt Wellington or the MONA museum and Art Gallery.

This is the perfect location to relax or base yourself for the perfect Tasmanian holiday.
